Odoo Online (SaaS official)
Odoo's own cloud. You pay per user (~$9–12/month in Latin America on the Standard plan) and get the standard apps with zero maintenance.
The catch: no custom modules, no third-party addons, no server access, limited external API workflows. If your business fits 100% inside the standard apps, it is honestly hard to beat on price for 1–4 users. The moment you need a custom field beyond Studio, a WhatsApp integration of your own, or a module from the Odoo app store — you have outgrown it.
Odoo.sh
Odoo's platform-as-a-service for development teams: git-based deploys, staging branches, automated tests. Entry price is around $73/month for a small setup and scales up quickly with workers and storage — plus your Enterprise license.
Choose it if you have developers in-house and want CI/CD on official infrastructure. Skip it if nobody on your team uses git: you would pay for machinery you will not touch.
A VPS you manage yourself
DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, AWS Lightsail: a 2 vCPU / 4 GB server costs $12–28/month and runs Odoo comfortably for 5–10 users. Odoo Community is free; Enterprise needs your license.
The real cost is your time. You own OS updates, PostgreSQL tuning, SSL renewals, off-site backups (and restore drills!), security hardening, monitoring, and the patched build of wkhtmltopdf so your PDFs print correctly. Budget 5–10 hours/month if you know what you are doing — much more while you learn. For a technical founder who enjoys it, this is a fine road. For a business that just needs Odoo to work, those hours are usually worth more than the $27/month you save.
Minimum sane specs: 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB SSD, daily off-site backups.
Managed Odoo hosting (what we do)
You bring your Odoo Enterprise license, we run everything else: your own isolated instance at yourcompany.estable.run, provisioned in about a minute, with daily backups, updates, monitoring and support in English and Spanish.
What makes it different from Online: custom modules are allowed — our team reviews and installs them for you (on a private server you manage your own addons). Full API access. WhatsApp and AI integrations. Your accounting localization installed from day one.
Pricing that matches reality: $5 activation today, then you pay only for the days you actually use at a $39/month rate, billed on the 1st. Cancel anytime; your remaining balance is just the days used. Start here or check the Help Center.
On-premise
Your own hardware, your own building. Justified when regulation demands data on-site or you need to run without internet. Otherwise you are buying servers, UPS, and an IT payroll to solve a problem the cloud solved a decade ago.
How to choose in 3 questions
- Do you need anything beyond the standard apps? Custom modules, third-party addons, your own integrations → Online is out. Everything else stays on the table.
- Do you have technical people with hours to spare? Yes and they enjoy ops → a VPS is the cheapest. Developers but no ops appetite → Odoo.sh. Neither → managed hosting.
- Community or Enterprise? Community is free and fine for self-hosting basics. Enterprise adds the full app suite, mobile, Studio, and official support — and is what we host (you bring the license, from ~$14/user/month in LATAM).
Frequently asked questions
Add three things: hosting (from $12 DIY to $39–73 managed/sh), the Enterprise license if you use it (~$14/user/month in LATAM; $0 for Community), and maintenance hours (0 on managed platforms, 5–10 h/month DIY). The cheapest sticker price is rarely the cheapest total.
Odoo.sh and our platform run Enterprise (bring your license). If you are set on Community, a self-managed VPS is your honest best option — that is what it is for.
Yes. Odoo Online lets you download a full backup of your database. Any competent host (including us) can restore it, keeping your data, users and history. The usual reason to migrate: you hit the custom-modules wall.
Online: not allowed, full stop. Odoo.sh and VPS: you install and maintain them. Managed (us): send them through your portal, our team reviews and installs them; on a private server you get full control.
On any serious option your company runs in its own isolated database. With us: your own database and filestore, daily backups kept 14 days, and you can export a full restorable copy anytime from your portal.
For 5–10 users: 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB SSD, PostgreSQL 14+, and the patched-qt build of wkhtmltopdf (stock builds break PDF reports). Double the RAM before you double anything else.
